What an exciting week!
I realized that the horrible linoleum was under the kitchenette, so I removed that (I even unhooked the plumbing myself without breaking/damaging anything). Go me! Now I just have to finish exposing the hardwood!
There are a lot of large burrows in our front yard, so I set a trap a couple days ago and finally caught a large rat. He’s so nasty, but a little cute too. He’s alive and I never thought through what I would do once I caught one. He’s been in the trap two days and I can’t decide how to handle this situation. I called animal control and they were zero help. Poor little guy. He picked the wrong yard.
Yesterday, I began tearing the ceramic tile out of the bathroom. I had planned to lay some gorgeous slate or something cool, but I found original hex tile in the bathroom!!! This is so much better than anything I could have planned! And what I’ve uncovered so far is in perfect condition! The only downside is that chipping the thin-set concrete off the tile is a nightmare. The video below is what I sent to work immediately upon my discovery. This house is my dream renovation!
