So! Almost all our trash was taken away and I was able to clean up our yard! It looks so much better! Unfortunately, I made the mistake of paying the person (a neighbor) in full before he had taken all of the trash. I guess I just assumed that adults do what they say they’ll do. I also assumed that since he offered me multiple other services that I told him I’d probably be needing, he would want to make a good first impression. I was wrong. So, I still have some trash to dispose of. But aside from the smaller trash pile off to the side, the yard looks great and so much larger than we thought it was when we bought the house!
The Maple House still hasn’t been sided and we still haven’t heard anything from the company. I have called multiple times and can only reach their call center, who says they’ll reach out to the Milwaukee office and get back to us. I’ve yet to receive any information back from any of my many phone calls. But this week, they called me! Yay! They just called to let me know they’re behind and haven’t forgotten about me. No projected start date. Boo. But at least they reached out. I got the number and email for the person I talked to.
This week I posted our vacant unit in The 1885 House for rent! I have had a lot of interest, so we scheduled an open house for Saturday and I had nearly 20 people who said they planned to stop by. Guess how many of them stopped by? Zero. We did have two families stop by, but they just saw the sign we had out front and decided to take a peek. How disappointing.
On a good note, we signed the Rental Agreement with our new tenant! I spent so many hours reading Wisconsin Statutes and developing our rules and regulations. And it’s signed! I think there are things I will change for next time, but I’m learning!
