This week was crazy busy.

My paint/drywall friend came on Sunday with his pal and they prettied my bathroom right up. It looks so great with fresh, dry walls.

On Monday, my mission was to sand the drywall and paint the bathroom. I got there at about 07:30 am and got started. I was seeing a duplex with my realtor at 12:00 pm, so my goal was to be finished by then. Finished, I was, but I was a complete mess. I totally underestimated the dustiness of the job and my judgement on completing it immediately before seeing a house. The homeowner made me wear booties. That was probably wise.

After I got back to the house, someone who had seen the house that weekend stopped by to drop off an application. After she left, I wiped down the dust from the entire bathroom ceiling and walls, shop vaccumed, and started painting. Two coats took me until 11:00 pm (I did have to stop several times for showings). It was exhausting.

We had to drop the Focus off at the Ford dealership for two days to have the clutch replaced before our trip. I’m super thankful we have the truck, but had to take some time taking Wade to work and picking him up on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday, I spent the entire day at The 1885 House. I put up all the hardware up in the bathroom, vacuumed and cleaned the entire unit, and put a thick coat of waterproofing membrane down on the subfloor before I left to get Wade. I didn’t go back to the house before we left since I needed to spend the entire day before we left packing, cleaning our house, and picking up cheese curds, top the tater, and Door County wine to take to our families.

I had to special order our black and white checkerboard flooring from Home Depot and it won’t come in until we are gone. When we get back, we will be rushing to get everything put together. The baseboards will go in after the floors, then the toilet and vanity.

On the day we drove to Oklahoma, we accepted an application for some great people that we are so excited to have living in The 1885 House! They move in on New Year’s Day! I’m so excited! Everything’s coming together.
